HOURLY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Position Title: P/T Technical Assistant-HCTAL
Department/Division/Location: The School of Health Careers, Technology and Applied Learning
Hourly Rate of Pay: $11.00/hour. No benefits.
Responsibilities: The Culinary, Hospitality Management, Nutrition and Dietetics seek a P/T Technical Assistant. The incumbent will assist faculty and students in the operation of equipment in student laboratories; store and repair instructional equipment; and prepare requisitions for supplies and materials, as instructed. S/he will also set up laboratory and machine shop equipment for class use and replenish supplies and check availability of apparatus for class use. Assisting with clerical duties is an additional responsibility. S/he may also perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a high school or equivalency diploma and one year of experience in area of specialty. ServSafe certification strongly preferred.
Work Schedule: The work schedule will be up to 28 hours per week. Flexibility, with some evenings and Saturdays, required.
