Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ensure client business unit needs/requirements are met. Support, develop and execute initiatives that reduce cost, manage risk and support improved efficiencies.
  • Lead the development of reporting within company budgets and business plan to ensure alignment with overall Petco strategies and operational goals.
  • Provide ongoing direction and education to partners in order to drive compliance of the company travel program and policies.
  • Independent judgment, proactive approach, and strong analytical abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate, educate, and manage daily travel functions and program support needs in a timely manner. Including travel requests, questions on policy, challenges with travel management company and providers.

Support global travel strategy and duty of care best practices in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Partner closely with cross-functional teams to measure T&E performance and industry benchmarks to drive travel program improvement recommendations.

Identify program educational opportunities and develop strategy to communicate with employees on travel policy best practices, tips, and education.

Engage and establish business partnerships with cross functional teams to collaborate and drive strategies to provide world class service for travel and employees

Responsible for relationship management of preferred travel service providers. Provide regular reviews of service level agreements and contracted services with preferred providers and vendors. As needed make recommendations to change to providers or make amendments to agreements already in place. Provide quarterly and annual reporting on company travel programs and tools. Analyze data and make recommendations for improve to current programs and practices.

Responsible for updating and maintenance of travel related policies and procedures under direction of Manager, Events, Meeting & Travel Management. Monitor and make recommendations on new policies and procedures as necessary, and ensure revisions coincide with changes in company practice. Monitor adherence to travel policies within the company; execute monthly travel exception reports, including follow-up and resolution on any internal and external exception issues that arise. Partner with Internal Audit on annual audits as necessary.

Act as liaison between vendors, suppliers and Petco partners during meetings and events, in order to resolve any concerns and coordinate between hotels, airlines, rental agencies or other associate needs.

Work collaboratively within the Event, Meeting & Travel management department event planning team on all companywide event program needs as it relates to group travel; including providing guidance and recommendations on group travel cost saving measures, booking guidelines and communication as it relates to group travel.

Work collaboratively within the Indirect Sourcing department as it relates to travel sourcing, savings opportunities, reporting and policy compliance opportunities.

Attend relevant travel industry functions, virtual and in person to drive program change, benchmarking, and education

Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Nature of Supervision:

Functional guidance is provided on some, but not all tasks to be performed. Independent decision-making is a daily responsibility that, if handled incorrectly, could result in significant loss of time and loss of money to the Company and poor vendor relations.

Planning and Problem Solving

This position will coordinate and execute plans, programs and policies relating to company travel to maximize the successful achievement of project strategies and operational plans around initiatives. This will involve cross-functional collaboration and leadership with a wide variety of internal and external audiences.

This role requires frequent communication with company travelers, service providers and stakeholders. The ability to communicated effectively and frequently, listen attentively with all levels of the company is crucial.

Experience with data management tools and reporting, including Egencia and Chrome River are key to this role.

This role is required to participate in the ongoing building and maintenance of relationships with hundreds of vendors and suppliers in the travel industry. This position requires frequent collaboration and ongoing work with leaders at Petco and within other companies and organizations. Maintaining a high level or professionalism and interpersonal skills is imperative to the success of this position.

Impact

Must have the credibility, poise, and leadership skills to work directly with leadership on travel policies, programs and education. Must ensure financial accuracy, cost efficiency and compliance for company travel program.

Education/Experience:

Four-year college degree and a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in administrating a managed travel program is required. Professional certification such as Global Travel Professional (GTP), Certified Travel Associate (CTA), Certified Travel Manager (CTM) or other travel related certification is preferred. Must have computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) and be extremely organized and able to prioritize work assignments. Detailed grammar, punctuation and spelling skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required due to the volume of interaction with internal and external vendors and internal customers.

Work Environment:

The primary responsibilities of the job are performed 90% while seated indoors at a computer terminal. Travel may be required approximately 10% of the time.

$87,100.00 - $130,700.00
