Job Description

This position has been approved as a one-year temporary position, with the potential to be evaluated and extended through a second year. Key duties of the position include the following:

  • Meet monthly with a designated representative of Philanthropy and Engagement to provide an activity report on progress (around items such as data entered, current project updates, goals for the following monty, etc…).
  • Serve as the departmental expert for Raiser’s Edge, the software system used by Philanthropy and Engagement to gather, record, and properly store information about prospects and donors.
  • Will serve as a key member of weekly meetings to support Department Chair and External Relations lead as part of the EB staff and faculty leadership team.
  • Audit and Improve relationship database integrity collaborating with relevant campus offices. This includes currently engaged professionals (800 with 500+ professionals annually) and 300+ organizations (with 200+ annually)…employers, alumni and friends of Hope College. This will also help us internally with onboarding, communication and engagement strategies.
  • Create consistent and accurate data in conjunction with Philanthropy and Engagement regarding Alumni/Employer feedback (and updated contact info), EB engagement data summary, alumni grad school completion data,, review of 10+ year alumni reports, etc.
  • Analyze our prospective, committed and current student (and parent) engagement data and survey results that help to inform communication strategies and need alignment/integrity with Slate. This work also will support our advising and communication process for undeclared undergraduates (400+ undeclared but interested students without a department advisor).
  • Migrate data working with Chair, External Relations Lead in partnership with Admissions and Philanthropy in a way that we have similar approaches and access to all engagement and prospect data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and ideally 2 years of experience demonstrating qualitative and quantitative analytical (and practical) skills using spreadsheets or other relationship databases as well as making presentations to help portray data trends visually..
  • Experience regarding onboarding processes or relationship management experience with new hires, customers, students or other constituents.
  • Experience in a collaborative, project-based environment working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with database management (in Excel at a minimum) or other relationship management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge*, Slate, Salesforce, etc.). * training provided

Physical Demands

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
